After a week had passed Riley and Nick had been hanging out more, mostly alone but sometimes with Lindsay. "Hey Lindsay have you seen my red pumps?" She asked as she walked into the kitchen where Lindsay was already dressed and eating a granola bar "I burrowed them last week their in my closet." Riley retreated over there and slipped them on, tonight the two of them were going to a museum opening and they had invited Nick to come.
 
Nick walked into their place knowing they wouldn't mind if he walked in "Hey." He greeted Lindsay then soon Riley who was already dressed and ready to go. He spun around showing off his tux "Well how do I look?" The two girls smiled at eachother before rolling their eyes and leaving their place with him.
 
Once they got they Lindsay soon wandered off to find the owner since she knew him, leaving Riley and Nick alone together "I haven't told you this yet but you look beautiful." He smiled as he looked at her with mesmerizing eyes.
 
Riley felt a wave of shyness run up to her cheeks as she started to blush causing her to let out a breathy giggle "Well thank you." She hid her face a little and soon felt his arm wrap around her waist.
 
Nick noticed her surprised expression "It's just for caution, if any single eligible bachelors see you they will come and hit on you but not if it looks like your with me." He gave her light charming smirk.
 
Riley just smirked back "Clever or are you just trying to feel up my curves." She teased with a hint of flirting in there before a waiter came over with a tray full of glasses with champagne. Her and Nick each took one before he walked away.
 
Nick looked at the artwork with Riley as they sipped the bubbly liquid "So question. I thought you said you like color, that you didn't like blacks and grays and such. Yet here you are in a black dress." he pointed out.
 
Riley just smiled "Well I wear black dresses on occasion, it shows off my slim figure well." She smiled before taking another sip. As Nick just smirked he looked down noticed how good her body looked and couldn't help but think some unclean thoughts.
 
As the night grew on soon everyone was leaving the party. Riley and Nick were standing outside waiting for Lindsay to come out and soon enough she did, with the handsome museum owner "Hey guys." She smiled but then turned to the guy and smiled even goofier "I meet you at your car." She smirked as he walked off.
 
Lindsay noticed their confused faces "I'm heading back to Greg's place with him I won't be home till the morning. Bye Bye." She giggled as she waved to them while running in her heels to Greg leaving Nick and Riley alone.
 
Riley loved that girl but she was always a bit promiscuous when it came to different guys. Turning her attention over to Nick "You ok to drive?" Nick nodded and took the keys out of his pocket, he had had one drink only and that was three hours ago meanwhile Riley had about three, one each hour.
 
When they got back to her place Riley smiled over at Nick "Wanna come inside we could have some more champange I know why you didn't drink was so you could drive." Once Nick agreed they went inside and she got them some wine "Now no spilling wine on my rug again." She teased.
 
Nick laughed as they sat on the couch and drank the wine "Promise." He took a sip.
 
A few drinks later they were both a little buzzed and as well as out of it. Riley wasn't sure what her body was doing but suddenly she shifted herself so she was straddling his waist, soon enough her lips crashed against his harshly. Both of their intoxicating breaths hit one anothers face of the smell of alcohol. Nick reacted instantly as his hands ran up her bare thighs where her dress had stopped then they made their way to her curves, then around her butt as he caressed it gently in the palm of his hands. As the kissing got more heated they were pulling at the pieces of fabric they were wearing as they became hungry for one another but soon it died down a little and they both pulled away soon realizing what they were doing. Riley got off of Nick and watched him leave back to his apartment as she left for her room.
 
The next morning Riley woke up to a hangover and soon realized what had happened between her and Nick and instantly cringed. She remembered how wrong it was but how good it felt. She was about to step into the bathroom when she heard a knock at the door. She walked over to answer it finding Nick standing there in his jogging outfit while holding out a daisy for her, like everything last night didn't happen. She took the daisy from him and was about to say something but Nick cut her off "Let's go do our new thing now. There's a soft pretzel out there with your name on it."

About an hour later the two of them were sitting on the sand as they waited to dry off before heading back to their aparment "Well that was fun. Your a terrible swimmer though." She joked as she nudged him playfully.
 
Nick just laughed "I am guilty of that, but hey I had fun too maybe this should be a regular thing with us. A morning jog followed by a soft pretzel and then a swim in the ocean." He nudged her back as well.
 
Riley just smiled "That would be nice, it could be our thing. Like friends who always having only they do. I have never had that before...well with a guy. Me and Lindsay do this thing where every friday night we play board games while eating chocolate popcorn with red vines and then when we get tired of those we watch White Chicks and then call it a night. " She stated.
 
Nick laughed a little "Sounds interesting. How long have you guys been doing this tradition?" He asked a little more curious.
 
Riley just smiled "Since we have been friends so about 7 years, it never gets old though. She is my best friend and I wouldn't have been able to get through Seans death without her. I love my mom and dad but they are not easy people to talk to. Especially when the both of them are telling me how I need to greive, Lindsay just says to do whichever way heals me." She bit her lip as she thought more about her parents.
 
"I never even see my parent's that much since the divorce. I lived with my mom after it but then I moved out here with Lindsay. She's still out in Arizona in the same house her and my dad raised me in, or tried to I guess I should say. Then my dad is all the way out in New York trying to "find himself." She said 'find himself' using qoutation marks with her fingers.
 
Nick just listened to her speak glad he is hearing more about her even though it's not all good. He adjusted himself so he could focus more on her as she carried on "My dad is apparently trying to become an artist again since he missed out when he was younger which I find to be ridiculous seeing as how he has no creative bone in his body. Don't even get me started on my mom, I only see her at funerals or weddings, she does not even come out for my birthday. When she was at Sean's funeral she thought his name was Shane, I had to correct her numerous times. She says she loved him like a son but only said that so I would settle down and marry, she met him only once." She let out a long heavy breath before looking over at Nick who was focused on her.
 
Riley frowned as she shook her head "I'm sorry if I started to rant I shouldn't be talking about another man with you, then going on and on about my parent's." She bit her lip feeling guilty.
 
Nick shook his head "No hey I understand completely trust me my parent's are complicated as well. On the other topic he /just/ died, I realize it's going to take you time and grief to be able to move on from this." he rubbed her shoulder gently as she gave her a hug.
 
Riley smiled "Thanks. Anyways I think we're dry now let's head home." They stood up and started to walk home as they held hands friendly.
